To recruit new heroes to your squad, I suggest completing the story missions first. They may not offer the very best Marvel Strike Force has to offer, but it will improve your starting roster. And of course, you can just outright buy many of the characters from the in-game store and skip the grind. But if you don’t want to do that, you’ll need to collect character shards.
These can be earned in many different ways. There are raids, which are coop events where you team up to tackle challenging objectives and earn some juicy rewards. Then you have Blitz mode which is essentially a PvP mode where you go toe to toe with other players. So, having good squad cohesion and powerful heroes will do wonders here. Just be careful coming up against players who opened their wallets, they might have god-squads.
And that is the entire loop of Marvel Strike Force – compete against the AI or other players to earn character shards, then unlock a new hero and improve your squad so you can tackle more challenging battles against AI or compete in PvP. Rinse, repeat.
But there is one more important aspect – upgrading your characters. This isn’t cheap and will surely drain your resources fast, forcing you to go back to the dull grind once again.

The main resources power cores and gold play a major role in who you get and in upgrading your squad. Let’s start with the premium currency, the power cores.
