Meet The Resources
Star Trek Fleet Command uses two types of currency: non-premium and premium.
Non-Premium Currency
There are a couple of resources you’ll be gathering throughout your adventure:

Parsteel
Is the most common of the three, and you’ll have plenty of it. It’s primarily used for constructing buildings in your base, initiating research of new technologies, and building the many ships that will be under your command.

Tritanium
Is rarer than parsteel and is used for upgrading the buildings in your base and repairing any damaged ships in your fleet.

Dilithium
Is the most precious non-premium resource and extremely hard to come by, dilithium is used for constructing high-level buildings, as well as getting some of the best ships.
Premium Currency

Latinum
Is an extremely rare and very valuable resource in the world of Star Trek Fleet Command. It can offer various in-game advantages, such as speeding up your construction of new buildings, instantly repairing your ships, buying many different resources (officer shards, non-premium resources, VIP points, chests, blueprints, etc.) from the in-game store, skipping all the dull grind otherwise required.
Best Methods To Farm Resources
You can earn the many different resources in Star Trek Fleet Command in many different ways. Some require you to actively play the game, doing missions, completing objectives, and duking it out with the AI or other players. But some methods generate resources for you while you’re not even playing. And of course, you can just straight up buy what you need with real-world money.
Let’s go over each of them.
Passive Resource Income
You’ll have to build special buildings called generators which will as the name says, generate the three non-premium resources (parsteel, tritanium, dilithium) for your base. But there’s also another method you can use to generate more of these resources—mining.
There are plenty of asteroids on the galaxy map to mine resources from. However, there is one major downside to using this method—your ship is vulnerable while mining. You risk attacks from other players or enemy AI, so make sure it’s safe with no hostels near you.
Active Resource Gathering
Playing the game, it’s that simple. You can partake in the game’s events, and complete daily quests and missions while exploring the galaxy map looking for new loot. If you’re feeling bold, you can even attack other factions and players, earning resources if you defeat them in combat.

Spend Your Resources With Great Care
Since earning resources can be quite time-consuming, sometimes even expensive, here are some tips on how to maximize each resource you get:
- Parsteel is best used for upgrading your buildings, so resource generation improves. On top of that, focus on expanding your base’s defenses so you don’t get caught off-guard by frequent enemy raids.
- Tritanium is a bit tricky. It’s used for repairs, but also for upgrading your fleet. So, while you should look into upgrading your ships, make sure to have plenty of tritanium in a stockpile for any potential war/skirmish with a rival alliance.
- Since it’s almost as rare as latinum, dilithium should be used with great care and only for getting high-level and special upgrades for your fleet.
- Latinum, the premium currency, is best used to speed up your base building, repairs, and research. Of course, it can be used to buy other resources you may lack, as well as special packs and chests that can contain rare items and ships.
